Everything was wonderful; the hotel is very cozy and peaceful, nestled in a pine forest. The staff are pleasant, responsive, and always ready to help. While the property could use a minor renovation—which would make it a 10/10—it remains very neat and well-maintained, even though it was built back in 1936, and it features some truly atmospheric spots.
The variety at breakfast was perhaps a bit limited, but I’ll make allowances for the fact that it was the off-season, so they may have reduced the selection.

The location of Forest Park Hotel is great , surrounded by pine trees and nestled in the forest at the wonderful village of Platres. The atmosphere and vintage charm of this historical hotel still survives and brings a retro feel to visitors. It’s at a walking distance of the center of Platres village with many nice restaurants , cafes , shops and small hotels around. There are some lovely nature trails nearby such at Millomeris and Kaledonia for hiking lovers , a chocolate factory/shop and more…
Unfortunately the facilities such as the swimming pool and the tennis court were both closed and therefore unavailable which was a pity since the weather was amazing, sunny blue skies with 23 degrees during the day at the end of October. The hotel could surely benefit from a renovation and some updates , it has great potential but it seems it has been left almost as it was decades ago which is a pity.

In a beautiful setting. We have stayed on more than 10 occasions. Evening meals are good, varied menu, food is of good quality and prices are very reasonable. I had the ribeye steak with a truffle sauce, exceptional. Room size big, nice hot shower.
The breakfast has dwindled over the years. Used to be fantastic. The breakfast on the last two occasions wasn't the best. The hot food is cold. No fried eggs, no baked beans. No fruit just old sliced apples. There used to be apples, bananas and grapes. No black tea to drink. I booked a superior room, nice room but no welcome fruit or wine as on previous visits. My pet hate is toiletries stuck to the wall. They used to supply small bottles. Not sure why they are cost cutting but it's not working.
