The standout feature of this beautiful Riad is by far the staff who maintain it. Mohammed went above and beyond for our time in Fez and he was truly a standout memory from our entire trip all over Morocco!
The Riad is like stepping into a hidden gem off the streets of the Old Medina, a beautiful traditional and well kept Riad. A stones throw from all of the local sites. Surrounded by genuinely some of the friendliest people I have ever met while travelling. We ate at the Riad most nights and the food was amazing (I had the chicken tajine 3 times) and Mohammed would get anything you could possibly ask for without question. The first sentence he said to us upon arriving is - this is your second home and truly this is how we felt. My mum and I were very sad to leave. We were welcomed with open arms by all locals in the area, invited for coffee and to chat, we were never bothered in the street and found we did not need to barter once while shopping in Fez, genuinely the first price was far lower than expected, which was a big difference to Marrakesh, so we found we did most of our shopping here. A short walk away is also a wonderful hole in the wall restaurant run by a lovely family. I would highly recommend - Dar Cafe Rastiyyaline about 2 mins from the Riad for some of the most incredible Moroccan cuisine (chicken tajine cooked in caramelised onion and a sizzling lamb korma for a very cheap price). You won’t regret it!
Whether you want to shop, need directions, arrange a hammam, Mohammed is happy to help. The best host of any location I’ve experienced on my travels around the world!
Upon leaving, we received the most genuine farewell message from Mohammed, and we are so thankful we had the chance to stay at this beautiful home. We will be back to stay at Dar Attajalli 100% every time we visit Fez!
I have nothing negative to say about this property. It is probably the most pleasant place I’ve stayed while travelling.

quiet street
host/receptionist seemed a bit slow and unbothered (the lady on the other hand was far more proactive)
breakfast was mediocre but the bread was stale and the coffee & tea were both cold
upon leaving, we returned to the hotel before the agreed checkout time but they had already packed our stuff out the room and dumped them in the reception.
