Mt Vernon

The view from the sea view room was beautiful - through the trees. Had perfect weather. Lovely deck to sit and have dinner with a view - lovely gardens too. If you're a hiker, many of the day hikes start from nearby at top of the hill at the end of Purple Peak Road (otherwise you either need to walk up very steeply from town or drive up - about 2kms). Clean, private and comfortable. I would definitely stay again if I can find any vacancies! Best to ring/email venue directly to determine vacancies.

Check whether location suits your circumstances. Sun comes in very hot through large windows in sea view room but blockout curtains worked well. No air con but portable fan was much appreciated. This is a wedding venue so vacancies seem scarce.

We really enjoyed our stay here and immediately felt at home in this beautiful, cosy chalet. The bedroom with four beds was very practical for the children, while we slept in the living room. The chalet had a warm and welcoming atmosphere, beautiful views and was ideally located for exploring the surrounding area. We had a wonderful time here.

The only minor downside for us was that the kitchen and dining area were rather small, while the bathroom was quite spacious. We would personally have preferred a slightly smaller bathroom and a little more space in the kitchen and dining area. Of course, this is just a matter of personal preference and did not prevent us from enjoying our stay.

It felt a little jaded, and the bed sofa (which I understand is not going to be available in future) felt like the poor cousin… squeezed in a small space, no bedside lamp I found it a pricey accommodation for what you got.
