Château Gütsch

The room was lovely with a perfect view of the city and lake below. The staff was very friendly and the funicular a fun and very efficient way to go into the city by foot. The supplied bed and water bowl for our dog was a lovely bonus.

There were a lot of steps and a ramp would help for people with reduced mobility and/or travelling with kids/dogs in strollers. Breakfast was rather expensive for the items offered.

An incredible place to stay! You are still centrally located in Lucerne and are a short walk to all of the city, but you are outside of its hustle and bustle in the quiet calm up on the hill! The staff was incredibly helpful with recommending places to eat in town and their in-house restaurant should not be overlooked either as it was incredible food. You are a short bus ride (or walk) from the main bus/train station so it is very easy to use this as a base to explore the greater area! Even the wooded park up the hill from Chateau Gütsch offered a beautiful morning walk to a restaurant up on the hill halfway to Kriens. The balconies also made mornings and evenings romantic watching the town from above enjoying champagne and snacks on them. And last but not least, the funicular to get up to the hotel from the main street is the coolest thing. Definitely not something you see everyday and made accessing the town below easy and fun.

The price of the breakfast was a tad steep.

Terrace with stunning views and the bathtub with great large bed.

Lack of usb plugs, no long mirror to see full outfit

Upon arrival , the front desk clerk failed to mention that our stay included breakfast, so we missed out on the first day The bathroom tub/ shower situation was very unsafe . There was no slip guard for large step in tub and it was difficult to get in and out of. The bed and bathroom linens were so rough , it was uncomfortable at best. One of the sink drains didn’t work and one light bar was out I already deleted the photos , but did mention issues to housekeeper and front desk.
