Staff were amazing, friendly and helpful. Great welcome and lovely breakfast provided in a very communal breakfast area. The beds were very comfortable and we all have 2 wonderful nights sleep on the Hotelschip Gandalf. Have already recommended to family members planning to visit Amsterdam in the coming months. Location is great - close enough, yet far enough away from the downtown hectic Amsterdam area. Peaceful and great vibe.

Breakfast was fine; at first, they were very kind.
When making my reservation, I requested a 4:00 AM checkout because our flight was leaving early. I was told this would be fine, provided I confirmed it in advance. Upon arrival, when I checked in, I reconfirmed the departure time (we only stayed for two days). On the day of our departure, however, there was no one there, and we did not get our 20-euro deposit back. I reached out to ask if they could transfer it to me, but they refused. It’s a shame that an otherwise good experience was ruined by a lack of willingness to help. What could have been a positive review was lost—all over just 20 euros.
