Love how the property is secluded yet an easy drive from Liberia. The waterfalls and swimming holes were dreamy. I liked how the hotel felt very Costa Rican, not a property managed by foreign investors. The hot springs were excellent and the short hike to get to them is doable with small children. We appreciated the vegan menu and found it to be quite good. The staff were really warm and helpful. The property is vast and we would love to come back for more hikes in the dry forest and more searching for swimming holes. Lookout is breathtaking.
I recommend at least 2 nights - it’s a little confusing to get oriented at first. Note that the hot spring complex is a 10 minute drive away. Not the most convenient but worth it. Would be nice if they could provide towels at the pool. Check in can set the tone, and our first encounter was the only unpleasant one. The person who checked us in never smiled, and then rapidly drew all over the map in a way that didn’t help me feel oriented. It was not a nice way to begin. I made sure to bring my questions to other people at the desk after that, and everyone else was kind.

Maybe longer hours for the hot springs could be nice.
