I would like to raise a concern at my stay at the Explorers Retreat. We chose this accommodation as it included a ‘Superb breakfast continental’. This booking was made through Booking.com.
On arrival the staff member was very friendly and we were very happy with the room. I wasn’t sure where breakfast would be held so I phoned the number on the help sheet. I was told that there would be no breakfast as it wasn’t served during the week. I checked if I had made a mistake and I hadn’t, breakfast was included. I tried to book another room at Explorers Retreat for the same evening through booking.com and it clearly said a superb continental breakfast, I took a photo of this. I was told the breakfast wasn’t served so nothing could be done.
On leaving, I raised the issue again, I showed the photo’s where it clearly says it is included and said that I would send in a complain. I am disabled, which is why we wanted to stay somewhere that includes breakfast with access to make our journey easier. We would now have to pay for parking and a breakfast and the inconvenience of finding somewhere for breakfast that had suitable parking and accessibility for my self.
I have just looked on booking.com at your accommodation for mid next week and it still says it includes a breakfast. I believe this is unfair on anyone booking with you and false advertising.
I would like a free stay at your accommodation or a refund for this incident.

We were just passing through on a family road trip and only needed somewhere to sleep for the night. The price was reasonable, and the kids actually enjoyed the experience! It was fine for a quick overnight stop.
The place feels quite old and dated, and to be honest, a little creepy! Everything looks rather basic and cheaply put together, and it could definitely do with some refurbishment and better maintenance. That said, considering the price and the fact that we were only staying for one night, we weren’t expecting anything fancy.
