The setting between the lagoon and the mountains was fabulous. The grounds were well maintained and very pleasant to walk around. The bedroom and bathroom were very good and also very clean and well maintained.
The serving staff at breakfast and dinner were very friendly and efficient.
This could have been our favourite stay due to the beautiful setting.
The food offering was under-whelming. Breakfast had a wide range of options to choose from on the menu and given there are only seven rooms in the House it is understandable that a wide-ranging buffet selection was not available for guests to choose from. If the dishes served had been visually appealing it would have been completely fine, but our experience of the kitchen's output was uninspiring visually and not always especially well prepared either. The evening menu and additional "special" was unchanged during our two night stay. Overall the menu was routine and uninspiring and not what should be expected of such a delightful location. No matter how good the service was, the food just failed to really please.

The Flamingo Suite is the nicest room we have ever stayed in - huge, impeccably decorated and furnished, and very well equipped. The views across the lawn down to the lagoon were beautiful.
The food was outstanding - there wasn’t anything we ate that wasn’t delicious. Thank you chef! Sitting in front of a roaring fire in the dining room after dinner with a cocktail in hand was a lovely way to finish the day.
The staff were wonderful - they went out of their way to make us feel at home and to help with anything we needed, such as organising taxis to get us into Hermanus and back.
Literally nothing.
