Tucked away in the lush jungle of Mal País, this intimate hotel is magical. From the moment I arrived, I was surrounded by the sounds of nature—howler monkeys in the distance, birdsong at sunrise, and the gentle rustle of the trees in the evening. It feels like a hidden sanctuary where time slows down, and every detail invites you to truly relax.
The rooms are well designed: simple, elegant, and in harmony with the natural surroundings. Waking up to sunlight filtering through the trees and falling asleep to the rhythm of the jungle is an experience you won’t forget. Everything is spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged, making it easy to feel at home while still immersed in the wild beauty of Costa Rica. There are hiking trails and horses to rent for tours as well and a stunning, private waterfall. Star Mountain creates a place for you to undo the stresses of your life.
The reception was exceptional: warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making my stay special. Located just minutes from stunning beaches and Mal País’ laid-back surf culture, this hotel offers the perfect balance of adventure and tranquility. If you’re looking for an authentic, peaceful escape in paradise, this place is an absolute gem.
