You'll need a 'strong car' to get to this Hotel/Retreat, as there is no ash-felt roads within 6 kms, it's Tuscany. Having said that, the location is deep Tuscan Countryside with great views from all angles. It's very 'open' countryside. Beautiful without doubt, if you are looking for 'quiet', or 'get away' from the buzz. So, you need a car and be a capable driver. As for 'Locanda', it's a small group of smaller cottages spread around what was a farm yard & pool, all stoned and set out nicely. The main house (also quite small) houses the restaurant and I think the staff (around 3-4) we noted. Clearly this is a Concept Accommodation and it sort of worked, but also didn't. There was no common sitting area where guests inside (I imagine about 20 max) where we could all meet, only the swimming pool area nothing more.
Breakfast was 'incomplete' for the price range. You were asked to pay extra for hot items, such as omlette or fried something.. I didn't appreciate that as we paid for breakfast in the deal!..... All a bit hit and miss, but the quality was OK. Fine Dinning?...... way too expensive, but we noted that all over Northern Italy. It's become hugely less and less value for money!.......Pity. So briefly it's a Tuscan Get Away Concept of which there are loads to choose from so take your time. And be prepared with a big bill!
The Entire furnishing of the Hotel/Retreat made me laugh. Talk about items from the junk yard, sawn in half, lick of paint and it's 'Antique". Our Bedside tables (2) were make of a chopped up wooden stool, fine, but not level, so my glass of water rolled off it in the middle of the night and smashed all over the floor. No proper table space in the rooms which were also a bit small.......Bathrooms were meant to be quirky too, but that bucket over my head in a sawn up barrel for standing space didn't really amuse me at 7am...My kids would love it, I really didn't.

There is a chimney in the room that makes it a bit smelly but you get use to it fast

Funcionários muito atenciosos e gentis.
Tive que sair cedo do dia do check out, fizeram um lunch box para o meu grupo. São realmente muito acolhedores.
O banheiro. Não tem box nem cortina. É apenas a base de um barril cortado pela metade, então qualquer banho molha o banheiro inteiro.
