I had a fabulous stay at this beautiful historic hotel, which has the distinction of being the first hotel in Cannes. The location is excellent, and the hotel has a unique, old-world charm that makes it truly special.
Although some areas could benefit from renovation, this did not take away from my wonderful experience. In fact, what I particularly appreciated was the atmosphere of a traditional, elegant hotel, where attention to detail and classic hospitality are still very much present.
My room and bathroom were both spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. Spotless white bed linen and towels. I also appreciated the complimentary coffee, tea and drinking water provided in the room, as well as the good-quality toiletries and all the thoughtful amenities one would expect from a well-established hotel.
The breakfast was very good, and the staff were consistently polite, welcoming and professional.
There is something special about a hotel that preserves the charm and character of another era while still providing all the comforts of a quality stay. This hotel has exactly that feeling.
My stay was absolutely wonderful, and I would happily return. A hotel with history, character and genuine hospitality!

The location is great, the room was clean, small, and comfortable, but from the pictures of the hotel you’d expect more. First of all, the main lobby is very understated, it’s located in the back of the building, tiny reception with two busy receptionists, no personal touch: they scan your passport, ask to pay the city tax, and read the number of your room, that’s it. I had to ask what time the breakfast was. I had no idea there was a mini-bar in the room until at checkout they asked me if I used it.
The room was OK, everything worked and everything was clean, but except the bath robe (one for two guests) and the slippers (also one pair for two people reserved in the room), there is nothing exceptionally good.
The lobby: please work on that, it doesn’t go with the exterior images of the hotel, and of course the staff can show more enthusiasm at check in
