This is my third visit to Port Royal and by far my most enjoyable. Every aspect of the hotel is immaculate, from the rooms, to the grounds, to the restaurants. The cleaners and groundskeepers do a fantastic job here.
I stayed for 10 days all-inclusive, with the majority of my lunches and dinners eaten at Armira/La Pasteria led by the wonderful Giota. She runs a well-oiled machine, with the staff seemlessly interchanging, like the prime Barcelona football team, switching between greeting, taking orders, collecting plates, and delivering food and drinks.
Every day I was clocked by Ivan as soon as I entered, who would signal to see if I wanted a beer, which would be with before before I'd even managed to get comfortable. I was greeted almost every day by the enthusiastic Katerina, who always made me feel welcome and provided great service, conversation and recommendations for food and drinks.
I have only named a couple of the staff here, but the whole staff deserves the utmost credit.
The food here is as good as it has ever been. I have eaten the majority of my meals here during my 3 visits, and whilst, I've very much enjoyed previous visits, I honestly don't remember the food being as good as it is now. The chefs are phenomenal, the food is spectacular and plated wonderfully, and the whole dining experience feels 5*.
The main restaurant serving breakfast (plus lunch and dinner if you choose) provides a huge variety of tasty food. Whilst I do agree with other reviews that some food items can occasionally be lukewarm, I understand that they are cooking for a lot of people, and if they put less food out, people would moan that that they had to wait. It's a lose-lose.
My experience was always positive though, with a great deal of credit needed for the absolutely delightful Katerina, who would welcome you at the reception.

Pleasant and extremely helpful stuff. Everything was clean. A lot of entertainment in the pool area. Very spacious pools with always available sun-beds. Clean private beach. Nice rooms with all needed facilities, great air conditioning.
There is no iron in the room, you are asked to send the clothes to a laundry room. We had an early check out and asked for an early breakfast, we got a very small variety of food (a bowl of yogurt and cornflakes, sponge cake, 2 pieces of ham and cheese and bread) without any vegetables, eggs or drinks except black coffee.

Pool areas, beach access, calm atmosphere, location
The restaurants looked pretty but were almost empty in the evenings (mid/late August) which made us not go there unfortunately. There was a power station right outside our patio that was very noisy so sitting outside was not a relaxed sea viewing experience
