The reception staff were fantastic, knew us by name from the beginning which was lovely to have that personal touch.
No shuttle bus to main shops or museum. We hired a taxi recommended by the hotel. No meter, beetle nut everywhere inside the cab and as we had no idea what we were expected to pay, we guessed - either ripping off the cabby or ripping ourselves off.

The staff are exceptional. We had difficulties with flights and disruptions but the staff were extremely helpful and kind.

Small but decent room. The wifi was good. Staff were helpful. Nice to have both soft and firm pillows. Communication via WhatsApp was good, but it only started on the day of arrival.
The number of power cuts was absolutely insane. I lost count. Probably between 20 and 30 in 24 hours, and the lifts stop working whenever there is one, which is scary.
The wifi was up and down like a yo-yo.
The staff don't respond to requests via your booking to reserve the shuttle from the airport.
"Room service" involves ordering food by phone (except the phone in my room didn't work, so I had to go to reception), then going to reception to collect it. I ordered a burger and fries, waited about half an hour for them, and when I took the delivery to my room, I discovered it was fish and chips. After travelling all day without eating, I couldn't face reordering and waiting again, so I ate it. It came without cutlery, salt or pepper. Presumably someone else is annoyed they ordered fish and chips and got a burger.

The bathroom was spacious, with excellent water pressure, and was restocked daily with sufficient amenities. The wardrobes offered ample storage space. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, making for a pleasant and restful stay.
The carpet was dirty and appeared to need thorough cleaning or replacement.
The couch had visible stains, which detracted from the overall appearance of the room.
The rooms were often cold and not always comfortable in terms of temperature.
The breakfast menu remained the same throughout my stay, with little variety from day to day.
