Set in beautiful countryside - a fairytale castle. A large comfortable room with big armchairs, soft pillows and a huge bathroom. Well-stocked bar snd lovely guest lounge and dining room

Quaint, warm and full of character
Difficult to get to without a car. Train to Appleby or Kirby Stephen with taxi fair £35 and £15 but also infrequent access to busy taxis. No public transportation so a little remote

Breakfast was variable and filling ..the evening meal was very nice..service at meal times was excellent...lovely room...
The main road signage caught us unawares because of it's size...the room heating needed to be set to come on earlier and off later at this time of year. .
