It is located at a height, and reaching it is a problem. Even for a taxi to reach such a height is a challenge.
There is no power backup, so if the electricity is cut, you cannot even use the toilet or wash your face because there will be no water in the taps. You can't use the lift to reach your floor if there is a power cut.

The hotel has a nice atmosphere, clean rooms and a great location for exploring the Old Town. The staff were friendly and helpful, and overall the room was comfortable.
The biggest issue is the extremely steep road leading to the hotel. It becomes particularly difficult and slippery when it rains, and even taxis can struggle to reach the property. This is important information that guests should know before booking.

We had a wonderful experience at Citadel Narikala Hotel. Due to a major flight delay, we arrived at approximately 3:30 a.m. with our 10-month-old baby, and the staff welcomed us warmly and made the late check-in smooth and stress-free.
The hotel has a fantastic location in the heart of Old Tbilisi, with breathtaking views over the city. Our room was clean, comfortable and peaceful, and the team was consistently friendly, attentive and helpful throughout our stay.
Travelling with a baby can be challenging, but the kindness and professionalism of the staff made us feel comfortable and well cared for. We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend Citadel Narikala Hotel to anyone visiting Tbilisi. We would definitely stay here again.

The hotel itself is quite nice - the reception area is particularly nicely designed and with items in cabinets etc from the archaeology completed in the area. There also appears to be a hotel cat - think it's actually a stray but he seemed very comfortable around our hotel room and our friends'. Great view out across Tbilisi.
There was a large makeup stain on our bathroom mirror which made applying makeup quite challenging, as well as just not looking clean. Also, bed-sheets had small stains. The road up to the hotel is very steep and difficult with bags and suitcases etc - taxis do not seem to want to drive up the road either... Would have been helpful to know this in advance.
