The location of this small hotel is perfect if visiting Chiddingfold or the surrounding area
Check in was very slow, we had to wait a long time, and then our room was not at all as advertised. We specifically chose a twin room, the option which was given to us via Booking.com. When shown a small double, which didn't look like any of the photos, we were shocked. The manager wasn't particularly apologetic and made no effort to compensate us for this blunder (they could have offered us something, like a free drink at the bar or an extra douvet for the bed). Poor management right from the start.
The next day another member of staff said the hotel might be able to move us to another room. They asked us to pack up our stuff. After doing this, we went downstairs only to be told we couldn't move at all because the other room had a broken toilet. What a waste of time! and a real hassle for us, as we had somewhere very important to be that morning.
A few other small things which didn't help to make our stay much better:
There was a coffee pod machine but, when asked, no coffee pods could be found anywhere in the hotel.
The toilet brush and shelf behind toilet were disgusting
The poached eggs at breakfast were hard
We never saw the manager again. Another member of staff apologised to us for the room blunder the day we were leaving, this was appreciated but arrived way too late.
Sorry to say I would not choose to stay here again.

Great staff and very welcoming atmosphere, cosy pub.
Fantastic food with a lovely cooked breakfast, plus the Coffee really good.
Incredibly dog friendly and dog bed with treats provided.
Needs a little refresh of the carpets and decor.

The staff try so hard. The bed was comfortable.
The service was so poor took over an hour to order food . My dessert you could throw at a wall and make a dent. They didn't charge us for it as it was so hard. The room bathroomwas quite poor . The toilet seat was chipped. The extractor fan goes for about an hour once you get up for the toilet and its so loud you cant sleep.
