Cock Hotel by Greene King Inns

The room was fantastic value for money. Staff were brilliant...there was a small hold up with breakfast but they brought us extra coffee and were attentive and kept us informed. The breakfast was great value...especially my 'farmers breakfast ' We also found that this was where the 'cock and bull' story originated Brilliant value for money ...thankyou Car parking was great too Wife just reminded me that the pillows were excellent (room 16 )

Nothing

Great position on the high street , friendly helpful staff . Very clean , with good bed linen and towels reasonably priced

The building can look a bit tired in places but this didn’t affect our stay

Staff were helpful and the breakfast was tasty. Overall, the room was clean and although a bit tired, everything worked sufficiently, e.g. the shower. Housekeeping were efficient.

It is a lively pub so it’s very noisy in the evening. We didn’t mind as it only affected us the first night. By 11:30 it’s quiet. The rest of the time we were at Silverstone concerts anyway.

There was a good buffet and choice of breakfast. Majority of the staff were very helpful and friendly.

The hotel was dated and definitely needs redecoration and upgrading. When we arrived the reception advised that they had moved our room from No. 9 to 6. I didn’t ask the difference as I hadn’t booked a particular room and expected them all to be similar. I wonder now whether I was put in a lesser room. The room had a double bed. I would have expected a king. I needed a shower before going to my event and was disappointed that there was no shampoo and conditioner. My husband went down to reception (as there was no phone in the room) and they just bought up another shower hair & body gel! I know this is personal and I’m sure some guests would be happy with a hard mattress and pillow. But unfortunately I wasn’t and it took me ages to go off to sleep. Also the cotton on the pillow was rough. There was lots of choice for breakfast, but we did have to wait quite a while for our cooked English. Which when it arrived was nice. I do have to say for the price I did expect that it would have been a lot better.
