I have been staying @ Hotel Am Freischütz for over a decade now when in Cologne. It's a 15' ride from downtown Cologne In a rural town with all amenities. Good buffet breakfast and ample parking which is full on weekend nights in September.
Nobody after 10 PM, no security.

Recently renovated, the bathroom was very new and the facilities were good. Breakfast was great. Good location if you are visiting Phantasialand
The pillows were very airy and puffy

Quiet area. Plenty of parking spaces. The roomsnwere in pristine conditions and clean to perfection.
Everything was fine, but we'd appreciate a bit more availability of sweet pastries.
