The historical site with serene gardens and excellent food at the restaurant.

Money wasted. Total rip off.

The staff were friendly and the cat was very friendly. There were donkeys and lots of different flowers.

I booked a garden view room which was supposed to have a little table and chair infront to view the garden but instead was given unit 5 which had a view of the room across. The room was TERRIBLE. A window latch was missing, the carpet was filthy with dust bunnies in the corners, one of the lamps didn't work, the bathroom door had a broken window pane, the shower door in the bathroom is broken and didn't close fully, the bathroom window didn't open and the curtain looked so old and gross we dare not risk touching it to close it and since the cottage next door could see into our bathroom we were very grateful there was no one there. We had to fiddle with the bathroom light a few times before it finally flashed on. There was also black MOLD in the room, huge patch on the wall outside the bathroom and a smaller patch next to the closet so clearly there's water damage issues. Even the file with the write up about the history of the place looked so old and gross, also the menu in the room doesn't match the pricing at the restaurant so clearly they can't be bothered to update anything. The room looked so dilapidated that we shouldn't have even been charged R500 for that. Might have been nice 30 years ago and then they just didn't maintain it since then. The place was deserted and there was only 1 other couple staying there. There were random rancid smells around the property, the stream especially had an unbearably disgusting smell. The grass was long and doesn't seem like gardens are well maintained, just looked like bush. Ordered medium done steak at the restaurant but if I was quiet I'm sure I would've been able to hear the cow mooing at me. Noises the entire night from animals running around the roof so needless to say the next morning we checked out and will never ever return. We wish someone else had put up an honest review like this so we didn't have to waste our money going to this establishment.

The scenery is amazing, and the staff the overall place is good for one's reset, more especially couples.

The breakfast was very nice. the views as well.

The unit was not in good condition, walls are paint falling, the kitchen utensils was not clean. the kettle tripped the electricity. the unit could accommodate 2 people comfortably but they added a 3rd bed in the room.
