Hotel Lux

I stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed my stay! The location is fantastic, just a short walk from Munich’s beautiful Old Town, the famous Hofbräuhaus, traditional Bavarian pubs, restaurants, and plenty of shopping. It was a perfect location for exploring the city on foot. One of the highlights was the breakfast, which was included in my stay. The food was wonderful, and I genuinely think they served one of the best cappuccinos I’ve ever had! It’s honestly a shame that breakfast isn’t available to the general public, because I would absolutely come back just for the cappuccino! There were a few drawbacks worth mentioning. The hotel does not have air conditioning or an elevator, and my room was on the top floor. Carrying luggage up several flights of stairs wasn’t ideal. The lack of air conditioning was particularly inconvenient at night because opening the windows to cool down meant dealing with quite a bit of street noise from people out drinking at the nearby pubs and bars. Unfortunately, it made it difficult to choose between keeping the room cool and having a quiet night’s sleep. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The excellent location and fantastic breakfast were definite highlights. I would recommend this hotel, especially to travelers who want to be within walking distance of Munich’s main attractions. Just be prepared for the stairs, lack of air conditioning, and potential nighttime noise!

Staff were very helpful. Bar downstairs was great. Location is so close to everything you’ll want to see.

In summer it can be very hot. Difficult to open the windows are the restaurant near by has vent fans. I would happily stay again at a cooler time of year as everything else was great.

Very comfortable room within easy walking distance of the old town and city centre shops, friendly and helpful staff

Unfortunately there was a lot of noise from the bar and the back of the hotel, which was expected, but we didn't expect the loud thumping music, singing and shouting until 2am, especially as we had an early checkout the following day. Bring earplugs! Toilet across the hallway not ideal but not really a major problem

Great location. Helpful staff who let us check in early. We had a bottle of champagne to celebrate our honeymoon which was lovely.

There were a lot of stairs up to the room and overall the room felt quite tired. The mirror in the bedroom also had a weird film on it which gave me a headache. Could do with more luggage space.
