I do not recommend this place. It essentially was a scam.
I booked a stay with Twisted Retreat in Tahoe from December 24–30. The original listing described the property as having 1 king bed in the first bedroom, 1 queen bed in the second bedroom, 2 sofa beds in the first living room, and 1 sofa bed in the second living room. However, when our group of six arrived, we discovered that the accommodations were completely different. The property had 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, and 2 single beds in a loft. There was only one living room, and no sofa beds at all. This highly inaccurate listing caused significant inconvenience for our group, as it didn’t meet our sleeping arrangements. Had I known this beforehand, I would not have booked the property.
I contacted the front desk multiple times to address the issue. The only solution they offered was to provide an air mattress, but it would have taken up the entire living room space, which was not an acceptable option. I asked if they could adjust the price we paid to reflect the inaccurate listing, but they promised to follow up and never did.
To make matters worse, on the day of checkout, the cleaners arrived 20 minutes early. I allowed them to begin cleaning as we were just about to leave. At the time, the fireplace was on, so I asked the cleaners to turn it off before they finished. Now, I’m receiving messages accusing me of leaving the fireplace on and threatening to report me for a supposed safety issue. This accusation is baseless since the cleaners were present and could have easily turned it off themselves.
Overall, the management at Twisted Retreat is unprofessional and petty. Not only was I inconvenienced by their inaccurate listing, but they also changed the listing after my stay without offering any compensation or apology. Instead, I’ve been harassed with unfair accusations. I do not recommend staying here.
