The kitchen was supplied fully. I did quite a bit of cooking and appreciated the thought put into kitchen items. The rooms were spacious and accommodated the whole family easily.The only comment for improvement would be to have some shelves in the downstairs bathroom for toiletries. Also, it was a challenge to get into the shower without letting some spray out!Our small people loved the toys.The back deck was great but there is a splintery board and a few nails are coming up. We were careful about all of that.Thank you for the hospitality!

I have managed a hotel and an Inn, and I travel a lot. I know my stuff.The host cannot control the weather. The July heat & humidity was brutal. Global warming needs a/c. There is nothing charming about not being able to sleep. The washer/dryer are in the basement. There is no railing on the very steep stairs. The 4poster bed on the 2nd floor needs better slats - 2 people meet in the middle-sag. There are carpenter ants coming up to the 2nd floor. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking gear, but no room to put dry goods. There needs to be a shelf or two emptied. If a prior guest leaves anything in the fridge, it needs to be tossed by the cleaning crew. To keep the cellar damp smell under control, hang some charcoal bags, and ask the cleaners to make sure towels are dry in the dryer before they leave. It is a lovely property, it just needs a bit more attention to the details.
