Great ambience excellent service

The bed was not comfortable

Costs have gone up and service is definitely down. Rooms were not as clean as they used to be. Rusting in washrooms. Bedding has changed to less comfortable bedding. Previously when you come in your luggage would be taken up to your room for you - now, you take it up yourself. And we are talking abt close to 700CAD for a room! Finally waiting in a long line for breakfast because spots were filled with customers who were not staying at the hotel was very off putting.

The breakfast was great as usual, parking and the staff were dependable, diligent and very helpful.

We are locals and did not get the (Chaconia TANDT) local price. When we got to the hotel, we stated that we were celebrating birthday and marriage. Over the years, we received a bottle of non alcoholic wine and lemon cake for celebrations but it was not until the next night that we received a piece of cake only for each celebration. When we first entered the the hotel room, the toilet floor was wet and merky and the tiles on the room floor had brown splashes that appeared to be dirty. That night, we tried calling the front desk as we dreaded getting infections but it was to no avail. We could not use the toilet. However, the next day, we were able to get the cooperation from the front desk who sent a plumber. The front desk staff and plumber were very nice and the plumber had communicated that he did not find a leak and could not say where the water came from at the moment. We later discovered that there was a slope in the toilet and that the water would have been trapped there prior. Also we were told that the hotel room tiles were clean and that is how the tiles got over time. The plumber told us that we can request another room but we declined as we had already placed our bags inside and a janitor came and re-do (clean) the room. Finally, the pricing and booking were misleading unlike past times we stayed at the hotel. Before entering my card, i was given one price and after entering the card detail, a different price (higher) came up. My family and i felt disappointed.
