Hotel Inglaterra - Charme & Boutique

At the breakfast room I was very happy with the availability of lactose free milk and yogurt. I was satisfied with the selection of granola and other cerials. The bread was fresh and delicous. Our room was large, with plenty of storage space, the shower was great and nice large robes were supplied. The location, close to the metro station and the beach walk, was perfect.

Again, starting with the breakfast room, a menu was given out, but no one came to ask if we wanted to order something. We had to hunt for a server and request what we wanted, but this was not clear to begin with. The cakes and pastries were not fresh or tastey. Upon our arrival we met the concierge who informed us that we had free water provided on our first day and free pastries on our second day. This was not something we asked for, but when the pastries never showed up, we found that strange. In addition, in every other hotel in Portugal, over the course of 3 weeks, we were given full bottles of water in our rooms each day. In this hotel, our most expensive, no. In our bathroom the bottle that was labeled body lotion contained bath soap and the second bottle contained soap as well. When I asked to have this situation corrected I was assured it would be. I also asked for additional shower caps. The shower caps showed up each day, but the body lotion - not. To reach our room you had to walk through the bar and dining area, which was not always a comfortable feeling when the place was full. In short, though the staff was always friendly, the service was not high level or consistent.

Everything, great location, hotel, pool everything was fantastic. Staff were lovely and helpful.

Friendly staff, handy location and comfortable bed/room facilities. Interesting art works throughout the hotel too.

Limited parking albeit in street is available outside property.

First room not clean, (thank you to the gentleman who moved us to a way better room) , however so dusty after a few hours(air-conditioning??) The curtain in the bathroom is probably older than me..list is long Very noisy (you can literally hear everything in the rooms around you...), Everything around the swimming isn't great, (old or not maintained?) Needs a good refresh, the 2 pints we got given were in a terrible state, ashtrays full or cigarettes...small details yes but a for 4 stars.. and nearly 300/night.. I rarely write or read reviews but in that case.... Whoever owns this hotel.. should invest a bit or spend some time in there
