We loved the decor, the building, that there were lots of places to sit and read or enjoy a coffee. The staff couldn’t be more helpful and were excellent. Our room was comfortable, the decor was great, well maintained and a great design. The nice touches of a Roberts radio and lots of tea and coffee options was appreciated. Comfortable seats and quite despite being in the centre of town

We stayed in the Jane Austen room which was absolutely beautiful, the radio was playing classical music as we entered our room and it was lovely. The decor was very classy and suited the room and I particularly loved the Pride and Prejudice book that I started to read, it was the perfect room for our 29th wedding anniversary, very romantic.
We had a meal in the bar area and it was superb, delicious sandwiches with salad and crisps, but on the evening we had a meal in the eatery and the steak was so tough with thick dry chips, it was a terrible meal and not cheap. It was our anniversay meal and it spoilt the evening.

Location, Bakewell is a lovely place
We were in the annex so had to cross the main road on a corner to get to the hotel for breakfast each morning. The car park was always full and we were lucky to get a space. The room was nice but small for the price paid.
