The location is great, a few minutes stroll to Franschoek centre. Entrance is off a quiet residential street into deceptively extensive grounds that were well cared for and a delight to stroll around. Do not miss the low level trampoline in the grounds nor the pedalos on one of the small lakes where you can also feed the resident Koi population!
We chose to eat-in for two of our three nights and the food each night was delicious, well presented and the portions were massive. Our second night was the Braii evening which we were able to be joined by another couple and all the meat choices, of which there were plenty, plus the accompanying salads and vegetables were delicious. Wine options were sufficiently wide ranging and available both by the bottle or glass. Breakfast was very good with plenty of options to meet all tastes. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. The laundry service was very prompt with a same day turn-around delivered to our wardrobe.
There were a couple of minor maintenance issues in our room that didn't negatively impact our stay, but should really have been addressed prior to any guest arrival.

Everything about our stay was excellent, especially the hospitality from the team at La Cle. The hotel is set in against a beautiful mountain backdrop and right in the middle of town, so you can easily explore the town on foot before setting off to visit all the wineries in the region.
