About this house rental
Retreat to a 5 acre home site with 11 acres of adjacent forest of quiet, soaring eagles and deer visits. A walkabout nature trail through the woods circles the home site and pond. Dine and relax on your private romantic gazebo as you view the water. This modern style, original art-filled home was completed in 2012 . The house has a very large master with king bed and luxury bath and the upstairs guest room has 2 double beds with bath. The living room sofa sleeps one and there is a first floor powder room. Plenty of driveway to park a boat trailer. This home is fully equipped and accommodating for the best vacation experience. The 1st floor primary bedroom with king bed has a small deck and patio door. The walk-in Elfa furnished closet includes luggage rack. Wall mounted flat panel TV with Direct TV, ceiling fan, in room heat and AC control.
The usual minimum stay is 4 nights, but there are summer dates with a two night minimum when guest bookings leave open dates. Check the calendar for short visit options, or send an inquiry.
The detached garage has an apartment on the 2nd floor, occupied year round by a lovely couple who tend the flower gardens.

This is a beautiful property, both the house and the grounds. The home was very clean and the kitchen was so well stocked with cooking equipment and supplies that it was a real pleasure to cook. Looking out the kitchen window and seeing the neighborhood deer browsing on the bushes was an added bonus. The size of the home fit our family of five very well and had everything we needed (and more). And the art, the beautiful art everywhere! Communication with Jeanne was easy and thorough. She was very accomodating. I highly reccomend this beautiful Contemporary in the Woods home if you like to be a little bit out of town with a lot of privacy and nature at your doorstep.

Our party of four - two grandparents and their two teen granddaughters - found this a perfect getaway for a week on San Juan Island. Centrally located, everything we wanted to see was within a fifteen minute drive. We took a whale-watching tour and a kayak tour along the coast, and saw plenty of wildlife. The alpaca farm was a highlight, too. The property is quiet and lovely, with beautiful lawn sculptures tastefully arranged on the property; it is visually peaceful and relaxing. The kitchen and baths are stocked with everything you might possibly need. The host is generous in allowing guests to use what is there - even coats and jackets if the weather cools. There are puzzles, games, cards, a garden walk. I can’t recommend this amazing property highly enough! Thank you so much!!

We had an amazing four-night stay and absolutely loved this home. It was peaceful, relaxing, and quickly became our favorite place to unwind after each day of exploring San Juan Island.The house was spotless when we arrived, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked with everything we needed, making meals easy and enjoyable. We also appreciated the air conditioning, which kept the home comfortable throughout our stay.Our entire family—from our 14-year-old daughter to our 81-year-old father—felt right at home here. The location was perfect for exploring the island, with easy access to the alpaca farm, Friday Harbor, Roche Harbor, and other attractions. One of the things we loved most about San Juan Island was how friendly and welcoming everyone was everywhere we went.After busy days exploring, it was wonderful to return to such a gorgeous, peaceful home to relax, spend time together, and get a great night's sleep. We highly recommend this property and would gladly stay here again.

The walking path that loops around the acreage is fabulous and provides you different views of the outdoor sculptural installations. There are many, many sculptures to take in from contemporary to found object pieces, stone sculptures to finely ground stainless steel pieces and one of. My favorites, a wooden whale hung in a tree about eye level with moss growing on its back rather than barnacles. Art aficionado’s will love this house! It’s a gem
