I like this place, and willingly could waste my time in it

I was looking for a calm place for working on a book, making some exercise walking on the hills, visiting a few spots reknown for their artistic value (Siena, Arezzo, Cortona, Assisi, Anghiari). This place was perfect for all these things, beside having a very good quality/price ratio, and being embedded in a farm with lots of (harmless) animals peeking around, curious things to see and talk about with the farmer and some of his family. The setting reminded me very much of some hobbit or elvish-like place, including a couple of white horses grazing freely in a vast area behind the house. The place would definitely be very suited for a family with small kids, who would greatly enjoy themselves.

Nothing related to the place itself. Have to say, though, that I found the roads of the region all around a bit messy and holey. A bit too much. But this depends on the local administration of course. So better not to travel to the place with an expensive sports car, rather with a crossover. A normal car can get there with no problems, but be ready to check your suspensions after a week or two of driving around.

Fabulous facilities, but poor breakfast.

The place itself was fabulous.

I never heard back regarding my inquiry about dinner, but it worked out because the kitchen facilities were better than I expected and we bought food in Castello to make our own dinner. I thought breakfast was poor, especially for an agriturismo, because everything was commercial, long-life. Fortunately I had my own dry milk powder and cereal. Despite being less than 10 minutes from the cammino this isn't great for pilgrims. There's a 10 euro cleaning fee which adds significantly to the cost of a one-night stay and there's also no pilgrim stamp. It's more suited for a family vacation. There were no window curtains which I thought was a little odd.

La Tana ligt op 6 km van Citta di Castello, prachtige accommodatie op een schilderachtige plek! In de avond kwam de host ons ophalen van het restaurant omdat we anders in het donker moesten lopen, super aardig!
