The hotel is in a beautiful garden and we loved the small sitting areas everywhere. It was quiet and peaceful, the staff were really helpful and we loved the location.
The one problem was the shower, which we had a lot of trouble with - it was either freezing or scalding hot. Everything else was wonderful.

You need to ask for explanations how to operate the heating. It was a bit cold and they didnt heat the room

The breakfast was fine, if a little lackluster. I only went to the breakfast once, there are fare better options within close walking distance. I could see this being a fun place to stay if you had a big group of friends.
My room was cold and depressing. I was the only one there. La Serena in general felt like a town you should not visit as a solo tourist. I couldn't find much to do and if the weather is less than optimal, it is quite difficult to enjoy nature. Would not recommend.
