Lovely clean bedrooms and throughout all facilities

Good location, bar entertainment, great food and staff so pleasant and helpful

The hotel is closed to the beach and is central to the village which is great. The food was lovely and portions were generous. I wasn't booked in for dinner but Staff were helpful and accommodated me. The electric went out twice due to the Storm which was in full force. However, the response was rapid with the generator restoring electric within 3minutes. The room was warm, spacious and comfortable and had a working TV.

On arrival, there was no Staff at the reception desk so there was a bit of a wait until a young girl arrived. I was asked if I was checking in which I confirmed and was given my key. Although she was polite, there was no warm welcome or chit chat which would have made me feel welcome. I was looking really forward to the room which was advertised as 'seaview' especially given the Storm. However, I was informed that none of the rooms were seaview. However, I could see a very small snippet of the sea from the window . Although the room was comfortable, there was black damp in the corner of the inside window sills which isn't good for the lungs. Tea/coffee supplies were bleak with just 1 packet of 2biscuits for 2 of us. Bottles of water would have been great as I had forgotten some but there was none. The selection of food for breakfast was minimal although served in a lovely, large dining room. There was someone serving the hot food but I could not see what was available. Tables were seated very close together which wasn't good as our chairs were bumping into the chairs behind ours where people were seated. Despite this, there are many positives in terms of the hotel. I have wanted to stay here for some time but I am somewhat disappointed and I'm not sure if I would return to stay. I would, however, eat here again as the food was lovely.

It was lovely, friendly and so easy. It would of been nice to stay longer. It is right in the middle of main street downings. Lots of little places around to go to. Its near the beach. Plenty of entertainment!

My only problem was dietary. Although I didn't mention it in the booking. Most hotels have gluten free bread. Unfortunately they didn't. Thats all. The rest of breakfast was great. Plenty of lovely fresh fruit salad. Great fry.. you can eat as much as you want too. Certainly we will be going again.
