The Location is the winner.
The onsite 24*7 Onsen was great - specially after hours of walking in Kamikochi.
The dinner - a classic Sukiyaki was excellent.
Communication could have been much better. While booking for 3 nights, I had read that they provide meals but later over messages, I was told there will be no dinner. This actually made me cancel 1 night of stay as there are absolutely no food places or even shops nearby. But actually they provided dinner - which was excellent.
While the room description was 'Quadruple' - we were given a room where only 2 persons could sleep.
There also is a significant rate discrepancy between what the Tariff rate board outside the guesthouse & what is available online

Onsen on-site despite very basic facility. Charming staff with almost no english. Only option for breakfast or lunch was instant noodles Dinner was shabu shabu hot pot sbd very delicious. Having to sit in flor ryokan style is not good for elderly Western body.
Very isolated location. No food options except catered dinner
