Disappointing stay with double-booking and severe pest issues.

Very disappointing experience, especially since I had stayed at Chandralok Homestay twice before without any issues. I booked Apartment 702, a 1BHK, for 4 October to 5 October for ₹2,690 and paid ₹1,000 in advance. The booking was confirmed, and I had informed them in advance that I would arrive at 3:00 PM. I reached on time, only to find someone else already staying in Apartment 702. The property had double-booked the exact same apartment. Even the caretaker was confused. After nearly an hour of calls and back-and-forth with different managers, they finally arranged Apartment 102 instead. I had travelled from Goa to Kolhapur and was already exhausted. Having to deal with this immediately upon arrival was extremely frustrating. The situation became even more absurd when we asked about the remaining payment. The manager told us we had to pay approximately ₹3,550 because Apartment 102 was a larger 2BHK. Why should the guest pay more for a room change caused entirely by the property's own booking mistake? After some argument, they eventually dropped the additional charge. The bigger concern was the hygiene. The property desperately needs professional pest control. There were cockroaches everywhere, in virtually every room, ranging from tiny ones to large ones. It was extremely unpleasant and disgusting to stay there. I want to be fair because my previous two stays here were good, and that is why I chose to return. Unfortunately, this stay was completely different. Double-booking a confirmed apartment, wasting a guest's time fixing the property's mistake, attempting to charge extra because of that mistake, and having cockroaches throughout the property are simply not acceptable. Management needs to seriously improve its booking process and address the pest problem immediately. Based on this experience, I would not recommend staying here.

The property itself is spacious, with two good-sized bedrooms, a bathroom, and a kitchen. The layout and facilities are good, and the photos on the listing looked very neat and clean. However, the actual cleanliness was a major disappointment.

There was heavy dust on almost all the furniture, including the beds and other surfaces. The blankets and bedsheets had a noticeable musty, dirty smell, as if they had been kept unused for a long time without being properly washed or changed. The overall smell inside the apartment felt like a flat that had been closed for many days, with a damp/fungal smell, particularly around the beds and bedding. The condition of the beds and bedding was so uncomfortable that we were unable to sleep properly on the beds. It genuinely felt as though there were germs or dirt crawling over our bodies, which made us very uncomfortable throughout the night. The bathroom was also not properly cleaned and required much more attention. For a furnished apartment, proper deep cleaning should be done regularly, especially before a guest checks in. Fresh and properly washed bedsheets, blankets and pillow covers should be provided for every guest. We paid ₹4,678, and at this price I expected a much cleaner and more hygienic accommodation. Unfortunately, the actual condition did not match the cleanliness shown in the listing photos. My suggestion to the management: Please arrange a proper deep cleaning of the entire apartment, thoroughly clean or replace the bedding and blankets, address the damp/musty smell, and ensure the bathrooms and furniture are properly cleaned before every check-in. The property is spacious and has good potential, but cleanliness and hygiene need significant improvement.

The terrace apartment was good looking however due to rains it was leaking and we did not stay.

It was bad experience due to rains bedroom was leaking. We decided not to stay and thankfully I had not paid in advance.
