I have just returned from my sixth visit to Istanbul, and every time I have stayed at Avlonya Hotel. I think this already says a lot about the hotel. Nobody keeps coming back to the same hotel if they are not satisfied with it.
The hotel's location is excellent. Since I travel alone and use public transportation to get everywhere, it's very important for me to have easy access to the metro, Marmaray, buses, and trams.
Yenikapı Metro Station is just a 2-minute walk away, the Aksaray stop of the T1 tram is 3 minutes away, and the bus stops on Atatürk Bulvarı are also just 3 minutes away.
By T1 tram, the Grand Bazaar (Kapalıçarşı) is only 2 stops away, Sultanahmet Square 4 stops, Gülhane Park 5 stops, and Eminönü 7 stops. Üsküdar, on the Asian side, is just 2 stops away by Marmaray.
There are many shops and local eateries near the hotel, where you can try famous Turkish dishes at very affordable prices. The hotel is located in the Fatih district of Istanbul, which is a safe area.
The rooms and bathrooms are clean, and the staff are very friendly. I speak some Turkish, so I communicated with the staff in Turkish, but English is also spoken at reception.
Breakfast is quite plentiful, with an average selection, but everyone can find something they like.
The hotel also offers very good value for money.
The recycling bin in the room should be replaced with one that has a plastic bag liner.

The room was spacious, and the breakfast was very good, with a nice variety of options. The staff were really kind, friendly, and helpful throughout the stay.
The beds were a little small, which could affect comfort, especially for guests who prefer more sleeping space. Apart from that, everything was generally good.

Breakfast was great, the room was very clean, location was next to a transit hub. Hotel common areas also had a bit of an old world Istanbul type mystique to them.
Maybe add some fruit to the breakfast selection.

Had visited the hotel in the past and was very good. Now only the staff was good and helpful.
Not clean enough, breakfast was limited, quality goes down
