The hotel had a beautiful aesthetic, with a clean, stylish design and a really lovely atmosphere. The overall vibe was excellent, and the rooftop area was a highlight, especially for swimming, relaxing and enjoying a meal. It was a lovely place to stay while exploring Stone Town. It is in the perfect location close to everything you need just walking distance.
The only real letdown was the shower. The showerhead was in poor condition, with rust all over it. The small water outlets were spraying water in different directions instead of flowing properly, and the water pressure was very weak. Improving the shower facilities would make the stay much better.

Beautiful decor! The second you walk in the hotel is just stunning! The rooms are really beautiful as well, it’s a property with a beautiful personality! The staff are exceptionally friendly and hospitable as well. The restaurant and pool were great, and it’s located in the perfect area to explore Stone Town.

I chose this hotel because it was old and had a long history. The buffet breakfasts were excellent and the ala carte dinner was good. The beds were comfortable and the hot water was hot. Location was good with a short walk to the sea.
The price was reasonable and I would recommend it.
The service at dinner was slow but that is my only negative

Location is great. Hotel decoration is super nice, cool roof top.
On description there is no mention of alcohol not allowed on premises. I choose the place to be my last day in Zanzibar, I wanted get a wine to see sunset on roof top BUT not allowed. Also I rented the apartment (annex) and on description it didn’t explain that the annex was literally OUT of the hotel, in another building with no security. I pay 100euros expecting to enjoy the hotel common area, easy moving to swimming pool etc, extremely expensive for what they offer, with mould smell (I have asthma and start breath badly in the room). I got really upset staying there.
I was asked if I wanted a take away breakfast, since I was leaving early to airport, I accepted, but on the check out it was not ready, they didn’t even know I requested it. They offered to prepare, but my taxi was there already.
The food in the restaurant is not really good too. I got a lobster and it taste was weird. Also got a traditional food and beef was suuuuper hard. It was just money wasted.
