The Abbey

The building is very special and tastefully updated. It is full of surprises that delight. I went on the self guided tour and the history is amazing, You can imagine how it must have been for the previous residents and how well it would work as a wedding venue.

I couldn't get the wifi to work, but I had my own, so it didn't matter.

A remarkable property that feels special to stay in. We loved the many nooks to sit and relax and it was great to have bar service. I also thought the bed was very good, had a great nights sleep.

Because of the uniqueness of the Abbey it is initially a bit odd having to cross the hall to use your own bathroom, but just accept that you’re in an amazing building and enjoy it!

Everything, the way the building is being kept, what they done so far and what there doing now and in the future

Nothing

The character of the building & the historical significance.

On arrival we were shown the room we had booked, knowing the bathroom we detached, but not aware by how much. We were offered another bedroom with the bathroom attached, we chose the second bedroom at a cost of an extra $40 per night. The property is going through a rather noisy renovation at the time of our stay, which was rather disappointing. Had we knew the renovation was happening, we would not have booked for our two night stay.
