Everything! We arrived in Hakone to heavy rain, which continued into our second day, meaning we couldn't do our planned activities. But it didn't matter as we were able to make the most of the hotel and its facilities. Our rooms (with adjoining door) overlooked the lake and were more like suites than just a room. Having had 8 days on the go in Tokyo and Kyoto, it was actually great to have a chilled day. Perfect timing! The food was really good, staff great.

Nice size rooms, clean and comfy beds. Beautiful location. Loved the shops and aquarium and zoo it was loads of fun. The shuttle to to Hakone and to Odawara

Amazing location ! - shame our view of Fuji was limited by the weather (loads of rain and low clouds)
The cost of breakfast and the buffet dinner were not good value for money - though they were delicious

The lake facing rooms and hotel grounds were great, the staff is super friendly and courteous, and the hotel is tranquil and quiet which was great for relaxation. Onsen was good. The hourly shuttle made it comfortable to get to the town, and they have a free bus service to Odawara station for those using the Shinkansen.
The property has odd restaurant timings and a very limited vegetarian menu/options. It’s difficult to find dinner after 8:45 pm or lunch after 2:30 pm. There are no restaurant options immediately outside either. The bar menu is super small. Compared to other “4-star” options in Hakone, this hotel was just average.
