The separation of bathroom and toilet areas
After October 1 there was no air conditioning (surprise !!) we were not allowed to change room to the eastern more cooler side. When we ask to open the window it was not a pleasant experience.

This hotel wins hands down on location. It's situated right in front of the the famous canal, it's walking distance to many restaurants and there is a LeTao right next to the hotel. The staff are attentive and very prompt. The room we had is spacious enough and there was a bath tub.
We traveled by car and the line getting into the carpark took a while as the hotel has a stacked parking system and you have to drive your car into the car lift for it to be hoisted. There is a hotel staff to help you with getting the car into the lift. The hotel is also dated and decor is quite tired. The staff at the breakfast hall were very good but the spread was so so. Also they allow guests to smoke in the lobby.

Good, convenient location. The check out time is slightly later than most other hotels at 11 am. There’s paid parking, but on a first come first served basis
Room is a smaller than it looks in the pictures. Service is adequate and efficient but not warm or welcoming

Great location. Within 20 mins walk to Otaru Musical Box Museum and Sakaimachi Street. Right next to the canal. Has its own carpark (lift operated and charges ¥600 per day - strict restrictions and if car not removed upon check out -.additional ¥600 charged)
Very strict on even an hour of room extension-charges half day. Small breakfast restaurant so gets very crowded during peak hours and I had to queue about 20 mins to get in. Breakfast selection limited and needs improvement.
