I was very pleased with the proximity of the Hotel to everything within Nagahama. Less than 15 minutes from the train station on foot, within 10 minutes of the castle and a park that allows you to see gorgeous sunsets of Lake Biwa, and the ferry service to Chikubu Island was right outside the door. Even in a simple single room I was pleased to discover I had lake views as well, which was an extra bonus. The breakfast was good, I especially liked how several local food options were available to sample. I highly recommend the hotel if you want to visit Northern Shiga.
Though I kept the windows closed all day, I returned both nights to find stink bugs in my room. I was easily able to remove them outside, but they must be getting into the room somehow. Not a big deal, just something to be aware of.
