Staff were welcoming and very helpful! Breakfast was pretty good too, although the earlier you get there the better. Having an air con was good too because the room was quite stuffy and we couldn't have the window open because of the loud construction next door.
Probably our own fault for not being more particular when booking but the room was really tiny and stuffy, lots of dated and worn fixtures and finishings (e.g., raw cut plaster board in the roof, deteriorating bathroom), poor quality sheets and the floors on a significant lean which gives you a bit of vertigo. It's my first time to Istanbul and all the other reviews for Black Pearl are so positive so I don't know if this is just what you get for a room at this price point but I probably wouldn't book it again.

Location: Situated in Istanbul's Old City, the hotel offers excellent accessibility to grocery stores, restaurants, and tourist attractions—all within walking distance.
Breakfast: Although the menu remained the same over the two days, the food was clean and offered a variety of authentic Turkish dishes.
Staff: The staff were friendly and proactive, creating a warm, family-like atmosphere. In particular, Kerem and Guncha always greeted me with bright smiles and were eager to assist me. I would like to express my gratitude to them once again.
There weren't any major downsides, but if I had to point one out, the hotel facilities felt a bit dated. There was no elevator, and the staircase to the second floor was narrow, so I had to be careful not to trip. Also, the floor in the room didn't feel level; it seemed to slope slightly. However, aside from these minor issues, it was a satisfying hotel.
