Everything about the care I received at Paheke Lodge was exceptional, from the very first ring of the doorbell until I farewelled two days later. The care was personal, friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and well presented. The bed was comfortable and sizeable. The ensuite was impressive, although I did feel the tiles were a bit slippery when wet. Although i did not use the exterior amenities, the outside spaces were well landscaped and looked very lovely. The continental breakfast was very nice and presented exceptionally well.
The bathroom tiles felt like, if you weren't careful about how you stepped on the wet tiles, you could easily slip over. That would have been bad.

We were unfortunately switched to a different room than we had booked (due to a plumbing issue), but still it was comfortable and clean, and quiet despite being close to the road. Breakfast was great and our hosts very friendly.
Nothing (although we’d probably have liked our intended room even more!)

It is a listed historic house which has been beautifully restored and extended, with extensive grounds and massive old trees.
