This was 2nd stay at the cabin. The cabin has a rustic feel. It’s a quiet place with millions of stars to see on a clear dark night. The host is without a doubt one of the best. It has everything you need to enjoy a Wyoming/Montana stay. It’s about an 1:50 from the east gate of Yellowstone in Cooke City Montana via Chief Joseph highway. Cody is 35 minutes from the cabin. If you’re looking to have a nice quiet, clean, comfortable place to stay this is it!!!!

This was my 4th visit to this unique property near the Beartooth Mountains. The location is perfect for side trips to Cody, Yellowstone, and Red Lodge MT. You also can’t miss the 68 mile drive on the iconic Beartooth Highway. I’ve done all those things multiple times, so now I come for the overwhelming peace, quiet, and absolute beauty of the land. Priceless.

Property listing as rustic is accurate. Quiet, peaceful, open view, calm surroundings.Views are so incredible! Beautiful sunrise and sunset. Get up early not to miss the sunrise. Best part of the day. Bed on the main floor was incredibly comfortable. Chairs on west side very comfortable to sit on and read a book. Furniture in living room very cozy. Decor was a nice homey touch. My concern would be the intermittent but overpowering smell near the washer and dryer. I assumed perhaps a floor drain went dry but we couldn’t find one. We ran water when we washed dishes, showered, flushed toilet and washed the towels so those drains should have been fine. We concluded the septic tank was full as we had no other explanation for the putrid smell on Sunday. We could smell it on west side of building as well. Thinking that sniffing methane gas is not particularly healthy for anyone. I did not enjoy the shower experience. The plastic wrap around curtain wants to cling to you. There is a water softener and I am not used to that feeling of never feeling rinsed off. I’m really short so getting out of elevated tub was interesting. Glad my husband took first shower and warned me. My husband and son took a drive Sunday while I sat on deck and read my book. I thought they arrived back home at 10:00 am when I heard gravel flying. Nope. The unannounced visitor was the armed caretaker to collect our one bag of garbage. Very Unsettling. My son’s Benchmade knife was not recovered when I inquired.
