A warm welcome when we arrived.
It was clean and warm.

Very good, very attentive staff too
The only thing that bothered me was the little courtyard door didn’t lock

It's on the main road into town from the M6 so it's well positioned. The parking was a bit complicated with a 15 min walk to a private car park. But the landlady was very helpful, friendly and gave me £6 cash to pay for overnight parking. Breakfast was fine, though not piping hot. For the price it was comfortable and met my needs for a one-night stopover.
Nothing much

It was clean and staff were pleasant. Very little road noise. Breakfast was ok.
Mattress in room 8 was rock hard, I like a firm mattress but this was another level. Extractor fan was broken. Floor boards were very creeky so every movement from my upstairs neighbour woke me up.
There is no onsite parking - which is not made clear - there is on street parking nearby and apparently a car park some walk away.
