Being in a lovely friendly village, with easy and quick access to the coast, as well as inland. Excellent eating places within 5 and 10 minutes travel. Off road parking was very helpful, especially when loading and unloading.
Bathroom is a little restricted due to being under the stars and doesn't have a proper shower unit. Not a problem for us, but could be or some. Could have done with having a vacuum cleaner and a selection of cleaning and washing powder products.

garden was a mess. sofas weren’t very comfortable, no tvs in bedrooms

Fantastic location. Lots of buses and local pubs/shops within walking distance. Comfy beds and plenty of storage space for our things. The hosts kept in contact before and during the stay for anything that was needed. Excellent value for money during the summer holidays.
The cottage was quite basic but that was expected for the price and description.
