Great location in the heart of the old Fort. Breakfast was exceptional, including good croissants! Service was universally excellent. And I really liked our quirky old room - which was just like the pictures. The bed was large and comfortable and we slept very well. And the shower was great too.
This is not a criticism as there is no suggestion of misrepresentation here, but my husband was disappointed to discover there were no windows to the outside world ie with a view of the sky. This is because the room has windows onto a narrow internal atrium - and I should have warned him of this! So be aware, this is a quirky old place with many charms, but it doesn't have any views (and there is no "jardin"). The only other thing was that, as with several places in Sri Lanka we stayed in, the bathrom / loo was not entirely private - but there is another private loo downstairs if wanted.

The place is very simple but couldn't expect more from them as all area is same style but the staff were super nice and the location in the middle of the fort where you can see all the fort easy by walk and at night you in the middle of all good restaurants and bars. But i would say the price is quite expensive per night compared to the status of the facilities

We liked everything, the room felt so clean and fresh, theocratic I side the fort is amazing and the restaurant "puppets" is truly great! We loved our stay.
On our last day we had to catch the train at 7:15, so they extra prepared put breakfast box on request at 6:30 am.
Best shower in sri lanka (my Dutch boyfriend asked to specifically add this)
Cant complain about anything, would recommend and stay here again!

The location is great, super central. The room itself was lovely, with a separate area upstairs for our son. Modern and clean bathroom and lots of space in the room. Friendly staff.
The rooms are above a restaurant so you have to expect some noise until around 9pm / 10pm.
Breakfast opens at 8am which is too late for us. However, we couldn't find a cafe that was open for more than coffee before 8am anyway, so this must be the norm for this town.
