Location was stunning. In the natural forest surrounded by trees and a beautiful peaceful river. The staff were so lovely and accomodating.
The food was out of this world good! It was some of the best food ive had and in a lovely setting in the forest
Our bags also had gone missing the day before on our connecting flight and the staff helped call the airline and airport to ensure we got them back :)
No wifi in rooms but it was great in a way being off grid. The wifi was in the main area which was a very short walk from our room

We spent 3 nights at the Backwaters Lodge near Wilpattu National Park. What a wonderful, beautiful lodge this is! It is situated in a forested area along a river where you can relax and swim. The food was delicious, and the staff could not have been more friendly and hospitable. We took a safari tour in the park where we saw a leopard, mongooses, land monitors, water buffalo, and lots of eagles and other birds. We didn't see any elephants, but they are often near the lodge. If you are looking to visit the park, this is the perfect place to stay!

A very special place, perfectly situated close to Wilpattu. The staff were amazing and the tours organised through them top quality. Bird watching delight, fishing cat, star gazing- a little piece of paradise!
