Hotel Joy near Camp Humphres

🏆 Trip Overview & Purpose We were looking for accommodation close to the base because our daughter's school was competing in this year’s Girls High School Far East Volleyball Tournament (and we won! Go Panthers! 🐾). If you are traveling to Camp Humphreys, we highly recommend staying at Hotel Joy—and above all, please be kind to the owners, as they have unfortunately had to deal with a few entitled customers in the past. 📍 Location & Surrounding Area While the town right outside of Camp Humphreys is not Seoul or one of the larger modern cities, this compact area has a tremendous amount to offer: Proximity to Base: The hotel is only about a 10-minute walk from the Camp Humphreys Pedestrian Walking Gate. Neighborhood Amenities: Within walking distance, you will find 7-Elevens, C Marts (great for snacks, groceries, and medicine), clothing stores, coffee shops, and plenty of nightlife options. A Quiet Retreat: A major plus of Hotel Joy is that it sits just off the main strip. It remains very quiet, ensuring we had zero safety concerns and slept peacefully every night. 🛎️ Outstanding Hospitality The hotel is owned and operated by a local Korean husband-and-wife team, who are truly some of the kindest and most welcoming people you will ever meet: Smooth Check-In: The husband manages the front desk and got us checked in quickly, taking the time to thoroughly explain all the hotel amenities. Attentive Care: The wife handles the majority of the room preparation and cleaning. Every morning, she warmly greeted us to ask if we were comfortable and if our rooms needed servicing. We deeply appreciated her genuine care for our comfort. A Heartwarming Send-off: When we were checking out, the wife was so genuinely happy that we were good customers that she prayed for us to have a safe and uneventful trip home. To top off her incredible kindness, she also gifted each of us some homegrown tangerines (mikan) that she grew herself. It was an incredibly touching moment.

Was a great experience wish we had more time

The Korean couple were so welcoming and great customer service.

Super clean and location was great for Dodea Far-East Tournament because it was walking distance to Humphreys Pedestrian gate.

Close to everything

Very convenient in location. You can practically walk anywhere you want to go.

A little old and small. Great for the price though.
