Great value stay in Ito

The staff was absolutely lovely! We communicated in a combination of simple japanese and english and everything worked out fine. The room was simple but clean. The location is in a great spot in walking distance of the train station and several bus stops.

The facilities are a bit aged. The water temperature in my room was inconsistent. The building is a bit of a maze and could do with some better signage inside the building.

Newer Lodging off the beaten track in Saitama-area

The room is comfy, but a bit odd (without a sink or anything). Nothing wrong with communal bathrooms, but definitely feels like a dorm! The onsen is a welcome escape and there is a pleasant hang-out / chill space, where you can cook, grab a beer, etc. Hotel, overall, definitely had a recent face-lift. Lots of interesting non-Japanese places to try nearby as well. Leaving the key at the front was fine, as it would be cumbersome to lug around I think!

More of a gripe with the surrounding area; sort of a micro-red-light district on your doorstep. So maybe a bit grime-y for some. Definitely not one of the more glamorous areas! Pretty pricey, given the APA hotels are cheaper (usually), but I think the price went up on the weekend, unfortunately for me.

The hotel was run down but it must have been great at one point

It was close to orange beach

The sleepwear did not fit me and they didn’t offer bigger sizes They overbooked dinner so there was no seats or food

Definitely recommend, very good value for money, location and quality.

The hotel is quite close to the station, the proximity of the road does not interfere. There is a bus stop not far from the hotel, in 30 minutes you can get to tourist places and Izu, or take a walk to Ito. I stayed in a room for one, the room size is quite large. The room has everything you need: and even more: air conditioning, toilet, sink, 2 tables, kettle, refrigerator, towels for body, hands and face, cups and glasses, welcome tea and snacks. You can choose a yukata at the reception to suit your taste, in the room there is a belt for it, shoes and a yukata. The hotel has a karaoke and tennis room, but I didn't use them. The men's and women's sections of the onsen change twice a day, so you can experience both. Each has an internal bath and a rotenburo (though there is no view from it). The water in the onsen is mineral and not too hot. There aren't many places to grab a bite or a conbini around the hotel, but the hotel does have a few drink machines and a small gift shop. Of course, you should take breakfast and dinner at this hotel - they are excellent: lots of Japanese-style food, unlimited drinks.

Of course, the onsen is quite old and the room was cleaned only in the center of the room - there was dust and cobwebs in the corners, and stains on the wallpaper, but the bed linen and towels were new and spotlessly clean, there were no odors or hair from previous occupants. For me this is quite acceptable.
