The location is interesting, especially because of its proximity to the beach. Most visitors seem to stop here for a night or two while hiking or trekking in the two nearby mountains, rather than staying for a longer holiday. Arriving and leaving by boat also sounds like a nice experience, although I didn’t do this myself.
Unfortunately, my experience was not entirely positive. I had the impression that the host was not particularly pleased to honour my reservation, as there had apparently been an attempt to cancel it. Given the remote location and the difficulty of finding alternative accommodation in such a small place, especially during high season, this situation could have left me in a very difficult position.
I understand that circumstances can change, but once a reservation has been accepted through Booking.com, I believe it should be honoured. Guests are expected to respect their commitments and pay for it., and hosts should do the same.
Although the accommodation itself served its purpose, I did not feel particularly welcome, and the host’s attitude left me disappointed. Overall, I felt that the experience lacked the warmth, hospitality and attention to cleanliness that I would normally expect from a host. Bathroom is really small, but it serves for one or two nights

The location is great. Sougia is still unspoilt and has excellent restaurants and access to the sea and walks
It was as I expected it to be

The rooms are very clean and decorated with white linens and bleached wood furniture, which made it look very Greek. We ended up in two rooms and each had a tiny terrace with two chairs and a table which was a nice spot to drink our morning tea. The owners were absolutely delightful and greeted us with a plate full of fresh figs. We asked for an extra day and they worked very hard to accommodate us.
Nothing. We were very happy there.
