I really loved this hotel. Especially the beach and the restaurant and the lovely staff that made my son and I feel so welcome. And of course all of the cats, Amoy especially. This place had that real family feel where the staff get to know you and look out for you. The beach was wonderful. I really appreciate how the staff looked out for my son and helped him find the cat Amoy whenever he couldn't find it. This really made us feel at home and welcome. The nature all around was stunning as where the views from my balcony. The room was only 30 meters away from the beach.
The reason I didn't give this a 10 was that the room was quite small, it hardly fit all of our luggage. The room was fairly basic, but the price was also quite soft. Also if you have a lot of luggage the 20 to 25 minute walk from the ferry (there are no cars or taxis on Lamma) is a bit of challenge. There are some nice places to stop on the way however.

The staff are amazing and Hung Shing Yeh beach is my favorite! As is Lamma. Nice hiking and just a great retreat/balance to Hong Kong. It’s a bit of a hike from the ferry, esp in the heat, so don’t bring big suitcases!
The rooms are VERY small. When I got upgraded to a room with a balcony, it was much nicer, even though the toilet was in the shower, haha! It’s also a bit mildewy (humid Hong Kong) and there were marks of mosquito killings on the walls — this could be cleaned.

The rooms were too small. No pictures to see at the time of booking. We only see the room when we get there.
