Absolutely loved our stay at Wingrove House. Charming, comfortable, most amazing welcome and very kind staff. We stayed in room 9 and it was magnificent. Our dog Patrick was treated like VID, thank you so much for that. All in all, more than 5 star experience.

Felt a bit sad for the hotel as it is losing custom to the Star and other establishments locally. Real fire and more welcoming bar/lounge could make such a difference. Just an observation. Still a 5 star place🛁

Simple but well-presented room. I loved the view over the green towards the church and Clergy House, the large bed and in-room facilities. Special mention to the delicious cookie. Superb breakfast! The breakfast room itself is lovely and calm, and the range of pastries, juices, cereals and jams was great, plus a brilliant cooked menu (and the staff were very flexible with swapping things out due to allergies). Only small thing I would’ve added was some alternative milks.

There was quite a bit of noise from the corridor, above and neighbouring rooms. Some other minor things: maybe it was just me but I couldn’t get the heated towel rail to work. There was only a USB-A socket in a convenient spot beside the bed. I use USB-C so I had to use a socket elsewhere in the room. I think the duvet was two smaller ones zipped together and the zip part could sometimes be felt. As I say, all pretty minor - on the whole our stay was excellent.

Fantastic location. Very friendly staff.

Shower had limescale so was not working properly. A lot of road noise and not totally blackout window treatments.
